The Association
Objectives of the Association
Main objective
To promote the rationalisation, development, protection and material and spiritual progress, prestige and prerogatives of the chiropractic profession, its regular and proper practice and the well-being of its members.
Secondary objectives
To achieve this purpose, the Association shall preferably:
- a)Ensure the good professional conduct of its members, maintaining discipline and professional ethics and promoting good practice.
- b)Protect its members in matters such as labour relations, social security and health, among others, and organise assistance and support departments.
- c)Maintain contact with Chilean and foreign universities to learn about their programmes and teaching methods, provide advice and relate them to members' professional experience.
- d)Train chiropractors, directly or through third parties, via postgraduate courses, congresses, studies and reports that improve their knowledge.
- e)Foster cooperation and disseminate professional knowledge through congresses, seminars, talks, forums, conferences and technical publications.
- f)Provide and request assistance from universities, scientific societies, professional bodies, local organisations, indigenous communities, cultural associations and public and private authorities.
- g)Create libraries and documentation centres, publish works and journals, and stimulate scientific research and the development of its members.
- h)Establish a system to inform members about scientific and technical advances in the field.
- i)Coordinate its actions with similar institutions in Chile and abroad.
- j)Create permanent job boards for its members.
- k)Issue rules or recommendations regarding the professional practice of chiropractors.
- l)Propose to the relevant authorities legal or regulatory amendments relevant to the practice of the profession.
- m)Report or file complaints before the courts for any act constituting the illegal practice of the profession.
- n)Grant awards to chiropractors who have excelled in professional practice, teaching, research or professional service.
- ñ)Foster relations with other health professional bodies.
- o)Raise public awareness of the benefits of chiropractic care and promote its development and prestige.
- p)Contribute to the maintenance, promotion and recovery of the population's health.
